Trail Travels Blog

Two avid hikers, named Fern Toe and Thor the Hiking Viking, asked for help setting up their blog. They were about to set off on an adventure to hike the PCT, which is a trail that runs from Mexico to Canada. (Hard core, I know!)

The main goal was to have a blog that was as easy to update, since they'd only be briefly connecting to wifi at stops along their hike. They also wanted readers to feel like they were receiving a post card with each post. To do this, I customized a Blogspot theme where you can easily add posts from a phone. I also simulated the experience of flipping over a postcard in the mail by adding a grid of images that you can click to view a brief description.
